Acolytes
Acolytes have been assisting priests in worship for hundreds of years, especially in liturgical churches such as ours. Acolytes are the folks who serve as Crucifers, Servers, Thurifers, Torch, and Banner Bearers. Anyone, male or female, when approved by the priest in charge may serve as an acolyte. Training sessions, activities,
and retreats are held throughout the diocese during the year.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild offers the ministry of preparing the sanctuary for worship on Sundays and weekdays, holy days, and special occasions such as weddings and funerals. They provide the Bread and Wine necessary for Holy Eucharist, and the flowers that adorn the church. They purchase and care for the altar linens, gold and silver vessels, and clergy vestments used in our services, as well as the altar frontals, kneelers and cushions that grace our church.
Care and Share Team (CAST)
"Cast your burdens upon the water" The CAST team assists the priest in pastoral care ensuring that each and every parishioner is taken care of by someone within the congregation. The CAST team is supervised by the priest. They make regular monthly contact with members who are no longer able to be as active as they once were. The CAST team make personal visits, telephone calls, remember birthdays, and celebrate other important holidays. They also check on folks in the event of natural disasters.

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK)
The DOK is a lifelong commitment to know Jesus Christ, to make Jesus known to others, and to reflect God's love in the world. They are women and girls between the ages of seven and one hundred and seven who desire a closer walk with the Lord. The DOK consists of Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life, and supported through the companionship of other sisters. No matter where one is on her sacred journey, the DOK's primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
The ECW is an organization committed to providing women an opportunity to connect with one another and called to be witnesses of Christ. It is made up of women of all ages, ethnic origins, and socioeconomic backgrounds in the Episcopal Church USA, who choose to participate. Witnessing for Christ, worshiping together, and celebrating our diversity, we build and strengthen community. We minister to become faithful stewards of God’s creation. The purpose of the ECW is to deepen and nurture the spiritual life of church women in the Diocese of Georgia through worshiping God, glorifying Christ and presenting Him to the world and enlisting active participation in ministering to people inside and outside the church.
Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEM)
LEMs are licenced by the Diocese of Georgia to assist in the worship service in the administration of the Holy Eucharist and in other services (funerals, weddings, blessings). They can also be licensed to carry communion to shut-ins (Eucharistic Visitors). Training and mentoring is required. New persons are always welcomed. Check with the priest in charge.
Parish Life
Our Parish Life is designed to create a fun, loving environment where our lives are respected, shared, and celebrated and our common goals are strengthened through Christ Our Lord. Our Coffee hours provide a creative outlet for parishioners that enjoy the planning and coordinating of social gatherings and events.
Parishioners are asked to help with the refreshments served during coffee hour each week. Sometimes this means a potluck meal, but usually it is just some snacks to complement the fellowship after church. It is a great time to meet new folks.
Readers
Lectors/ Readers are called to proclaim the Good News. The Word of God is not merely read during the liturgy. It is proclaimed, yet not with theatrical show. Effective proclamation involves the delivery of the message with clarity, conviction, and appropriate pace. It demands the ability to evoke faith in others by demonstrating one's own faith. Proclamation is a special ministry which rouses faith in those who hear the Word proclaimed. It is truly a joy and a gift shared by the entire parish.
Ushers and Greeters
A church greeter/usher is often the first person a visitor to a church will meet. Just like in the building of all relationships, the first impression a greeter makes has an impact on the perception of a church. Church greeters/ushers, assist church attenders, provide them with a bulletin, and guide them to their seats.
Often when a family with young children arrives for the first time, a greeter/usher can show them the nursery, explain the service, assist in transitioning the children to their room and generally provide a hand of friendship and love to the visitor. Greeters/ushers show adults to their Sunday school class if they have not attended it before, and introduce the person to the others in the room.
