Welcome to St. Philip's Episcopal Church!
We are delighted that you have chosen to visit us and learn more about who we are, what we believe, and how we live out our call to serve each other, the community, and the world. We are a family-friendly, warm, and welcoming congregation that celebrates and proclaims God's love for all people through worship, word, and deed. If you are looking for a Christian community, where all are welcome (visitors, civilians, military, the lost and left out) and that promises to seek and serve Christ in all persons, come give us a try. OUR COMMUNITY
St. Philip's Episcopal Church is located near Fort Stewart and the principal city of Hinesville which are part of the Hinesville-Fort Stewart metropolitan area, which comprises all of Liberty County and neighboring Long County.
Hinesville is located next to the Atlantic coast which has an abundance of coastal streams and waterways.

OUR VISION
We gather as a Christian community to worship God, to teach the Christian faith, to grow in fellowship and to reach out to our neighbors in the name of Jesus Christ. Our spiritual journey together seeks to work closely with other faith communities to assist the disadvantaged and improve the quality of life throughout the region of Coastal Georgia.
WHAT WE DO
Worship is the most important thing we do at St. Philip's. It grounds us. It connects us to God. It teaches us to see our lives in perspective and to live them well. At St. Philip's, our worship is best described in three ways:
First, we follow a particular order. Our Sunday services always follow the format found in our Book of Common Prayer. If you're not used to this kind of worship, it can be tricky at first. That's okay. Observe, watch, enjoy. Soak it in, and don't be afraid to ask someone if you would like help.
Second, you have a part!
Our worship is not a one-man (or woman) show centered on the priest. We want everyone involved. The congregation participates through responsive readings, singing hymns, offering prayers, and more, using all five senses to allow God to reach us. You may notice that some people cross themselves, bow at certain times, or make other manual responses throughout the service. Don't worry if you're not sure when and how to do all of that. Though personally meaningful to those who do them, such actions are not required or expected. Be yourself.
Third, above all else, our worship is reverent and joyful. The reverence found at St. Philip's points to the beauty and mystery of God and provides healing for our weary souls. The joy we find sends us out into the world in love, ready for a new week of possibilities in our daily lives and spiritual journeys.
